On Friday, April 5, 2013, Mrs.Bessie D. English slipped peacefully into the arms of her loving Savior. She was 94. Mrs. English was born September 29, 1918 in New York City, but lived most of her early years in Franklin, Virginia. She was the daughter of Sr. Lieutenant Clyde Hudson and Bessie May Dougherty and the wife of Matthew D. "Jim" English.

Jacqueline "Jacky" M. James passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Brockenhurst, England. She is survived by her mother, Barbara James of Brockenhurst and brother Mike James of London. Jacky was born on June 14, 1952 in England. She came to the United States in the late '70s to work for Ashwell Stables. Jonathan Sheppard said, "We had a very strong stable. Jacky was an integral part of it and was closely associated with two Grade 1 fillies, Trevita and First Approach."
