Mrs. Virginia Kathleen Jane (Frisch) Nelson of Camden, SC, formerly of The Villages, FL, and of Pittsburgh, PA, was born August 3, 1924 and passed away on March 4, 2017. She was happily married for 68 years to Robert James Nelson, who she deeply missed after he passed away in 2012.
Funeral services for Lloyd Montgomery Nelson, 83, will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. William Laney Bain, Jr., 90, of Camden, SC, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017. He was born in Pell City, AL, the son of the late Rev. William L. Bain and Floretta Aders Bain. William was in the US Army and served in the 88th Infantry Division during the European Theater in WWII. He graduated from Pell City High in 1944 and received his BS in Business Administration from Auburn University in 1952. Vernice Hattie Duren Belton, 93, of Camden, SC, was born on October 21, 1923, to the late Wayman and Amelia Drakeford Duren, in Kershaw County, SC. She was the 11th child of 15 children. Affectionately known as "Aunt Vernice," she was called to eternal rest on February 17, 2017, in Elizabeth City, NC, where she lived with her daughter.
