A Lugoff man was arrested Wednesday, April 9 after Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) deputies found equipment and supplies used to manufacture methamphetamine at his home. A KCSO report said Michael Dean Thompson, 25, 1759 Baughman Road was taken into custody after deputies paid a visit to the home after receiving information that Thompson had been making excessive purchases of pseudoephedrine, an over-the-counter cold remedy used to make methamphetamine. The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) is continuing its investigation of Saturday's early morning armed robbery at the Markette in Lugoff. New information from the KCSO's incident report of the robbery now indicates that the robber forced the female employee opening the store to open a safe.

One commercial motor coach bus crashed into another on I-20 Saturday morning as both buses swerved to avoid a couch that had, somehow, ended up on the highway. S.C. Highway Patrol (SCHP) Lance Cpl.
