Tribble guilty; to be sentenced May 12

Former Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) Sgt. Oddie Tribble Jr. was found guilty Thursday of violating a Camden man's constitutionally protected right to be free from the excessive use of force. Tribble will be sentenced May 12; he could face up to 10 years in federal prison.

Woman arrested in pawn shop robbery

The young woman waited in the wrecked van as law enforcement officers chased her brother and his two friends through the woods north of Westville. When they were gone, she got out, walked a bit and then used her cell phone to call a ride.

Prestage Farms owner arrested in Washington, D.C.

Ron Prestage, president of Prestage Farms and a Kershaw County resident, spent most of Wednesday and part of Thursday in a Washington, D.C., jail cell. According to U.S. Capitol Police (USCP), Prestage, 59, was arrested around 9:20 a.m. Wednesday after officers discovered he was carrying a loaded handgun and a magazine with ammunition in a briefcase while trying to enter the Cannon House Office Building.
