Lugoff bank robbed

A man who robbed First Palmetto Savings Bank's Lugoff branch at gunpoint around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday remained at large Thursday afternoon. According to the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), the man walked into the bank, pulled out a silver pistol and demanded the teller give him all her loose bills. KCSO Chief Deputy Marvin Brown described the suspect as a "white male, tall, slender with a grubby beard wearing a white shirt and blue jeans" and is believed to be 25 to 30 years old. The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) arrested two men whom Sheriff Jim Matthews described as "career criminals" following a car chase Feb. 13 where the suspects ran other drivers off the road. Matthews identified the men as Marcus Antwon Greene, 24, of Lyttleton Street, Camden, and Jermaine Davon Mickle, 26, of York Street, Camden. Both men, he said, have extensive criminal records.

Someone spray painted the word "KILLS" on the left side window of Cashman Pawn and Discount Tobacco on Lyttleton Street Sunday. Bond denied again for man accused of shooting into occupied home

A Camden man will remain in the Kershaw County Detention Center after being denied bond for a July 14 incident in which he is alleged to have fired several shots into an ex-girlfriend's home and forced his way inside. County man killed in two-car collision

A 23-year-old county man died in a two-car collision in the Cassatt area shortly after noon Saturday when he failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with another vehicle.
