Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) deputies arrested a Lugoff man March 12 after he allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend and held her against her will.
One of five men charged in connection with a May 2011 crime spree that ended with the murder of a county man will be 73 years old when he walks out of jail. Wednesday, Frank Terrance Singleton III, 26, of Camden, pled guilty to murder, armed robbery, burglary and two counts of kidnapping. After hearing from the solicitor's office, the victim's family, Singleton's family and Singleton himself, Circuit Court Judge Robert E. Hood laid down a 50-year prison sentence.
The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) arrested an Elgin woman Tuesday after she allegedly stabbed another woman and cut a man in Lugoff. Sheriff Jim Matthews said deputies arrested Brandie Renee Hughes, 29, of Sessions Road, after she reportedly attacked the man and woman at a Lugoff motel on U.S. 1 at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Camden Police Department (CPD) officers are investigating a fraud/confidence game/breach of trust case that reportedly scammed a Camden woman out of more than $29,000. A CPD report said the victim told police she received a phone message from a man claiming to be with the Internal Revenue Service who said she risked being arrested if she did not contact him immediately.

Stephen Ross Kelly, 21, charged with kidnapping, sexually assaulting and strangling 18-year-old Briana Nicole Rabon to death will apparently remain in jail until his trial. Monday, Kelly waived his right to a bond hearing. Also, attorney Bob Mobley Cook of Kershaw, confirmed he is representing Kelly in the case.

The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) and S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are investigating the strangulation death of an 18-year-old Lugoff woman. Kershaw County Coroner Johnny Fellers said Briana Nicole Rabon, of Ridgeway Road, died of asphyxiation by strangulation. Fellers said he has not been able to determine a time of death.
