An man armed with a semi-automatic weapon entered the Dollar General in Elgin just before 8 p.m. Sept. 27, demanding money. The Elgin Police Department (EPD) and Crimestoppers are now asking for the public's help in identifying the man.
For eight days, family members and the Camden Police Department (CPD) have been worried about Ricky Alan Courtney. According to a CPD report, his wife said the last time she saw or heard from him was around noon Monday, Sept. 24.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request Monday to the city of Camden in relation to misconduct in office charges against suspended City Attorney Charles Cushman. The FOIA request is addressed to City Manager Kevin Bronson and Camden Police Chief Joe Floyd, with a copy delivered to Camden Mayor Jeffrey Graham.

The Elgin Police Department (EPD) has little grounds to charge Freddie Grant in the case of a missing Elgin woman from Florida. Grant is thought to be connected with the disappearance of Adriana Laster, 28, last seen in September 2011. EPD Chief Harold Brown has previously confirmed that Laster lived with Grant before she disappeared.

The Kershaw County Sheriff's Foundation (KCSF) Board of Directors has established a new annual citizen award to recognize the support of Kershaw County residents for the Sheriff's Office. The "Leonard Price Friend of Law Enforcement Award" is named after Mr. Leonard L. Price, a resident of the North Central area of Kershaw County who has invested heavily in supporting law enforcement.
A Camden man who pled guilty July 8 to shooting into his ex-girlfriend's home a year ago will spend at least the next three years in prison. Harley Joe Moore, 34, pled guilty to charges of discharging a firearm into a dwelling, unlawful carrying of a pistol and second degree burglary in conjunction with a July 14, 2014, incident.
Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) deputies arrested an Elgin man Friday and charged him with third-degree burglary and several car break-ins after learning his identity from a cellphone he apparently dropped during his alleged crime spree.
