At approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) traffic officers arrested Donald Wayne Gillham Jr., 45, of Sun City Center, Fla., after an officer stopped the 2012 Chevrolet he was driving on I-20 in Kershaw County and found 102 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his vehicle.
Warren "Buddy" Moseley started working for the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) in 1980 at the age of 28. After 32 years of service at the KCSO, Moseley retired June 27 from his position as captain of the Civil Division.
Lynches River Electric Cooperative (LREC) is warning members of a telephone scam targeting cooperative members. LREC representatives said another South Carolina electric cooperative has reported its members have received phone calls from an individual claiming to represent the cooperative. The member is told their bill is past due and asked to provide their credit card number for payment.

Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) deputies arrested three people between Tuesday and Friday in connection with a drive-by shooting that took place Tuesday. Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said deputies arrested one of the suspects Friday and the other two earlier in the week.
Members of the Lugoff Fire Department (LFD) made a startling discovery while checking possible damage from an apartment fire June 18: a young American alligator. According to LFD Chief Dennis Ray, firefighters weren't even in the damaged unit at Lugoff's Lynwood apartment complex off Frenwood Lane when they found the alligator.
A Kershaw County woman accused of looking the other way as her husband sexually abused their two daughters for more than six years posted bond Wednesday. A magistrate set a cash surety bond at $30,000 for Kelly Browning, charged earlier this week by the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office with two counts of unlawful neglect upon a child.
Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) investigators arrested a Lugoff couple after learning that a man sexually abused his two daughters. According to a statement released to the press Monday afternoon, investigators arrested Michael Dwight Browning, 36, and his 33-year-old wife, Kelly Marie Browning. The Lugoff Fire Department (LFD) rescued a long-time family pet Beagle named Lady from a June 9 house fire on North Village Lane. North Village Lane is located off Smith Road between Wildwood Lane and U.S. 1 in Lugoff.
