Pierre Brevard, of Camden, has been named to the Dean's List at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) for the fall quarter 2012. Full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter receive recognition on the Dean's List.
Cool clear weather greeted more than 275 runners and walkers during Fitness Zone's fifth annual Jingle Bell 5K Dec. 1. While the majority of participants were from Kershaw County, the event attracted runners and walkers from all over the Midlands, as well as other areas of the state.
Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) faculty and staff recently named Kris Elliott of Camden, to CCTC's new alumni council. Elliott, who works for Accuride Corp., joins 10 others on the council, appointed to provide direction and leadership for the new CCTC Alumni Partnership program.
The Kershaw County School District (KCSD) received an unqualified audit report for the 2013 fiscal year from Larry Montague of the accounting firm of Burkett, Burkett and Burkett during the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees' meeting Monday. Montague said the firm found the KCSD's financial documents "correct and appropriate" for the fiscal year, which ended back on June 30.
