KCSD to launch online registration, new website designs

In an effort to make things easier for parents and district staff, as well as be more cost efficient, the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) will launch a new online student registration system in July. The district will also change over its district and individual school websites to a new design scheme during the week of June 29.

School gyms open for basketball this summer

With Kershaw County schools on summer break, children in the area, and their parents, are always looking for fun and productive activities during the idle time. The Kershaw County Parks and Recreation Department (KCPRD) offers a variety of summer activities and, for the second year, has teamed with the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) to open school gyms for basketball play in the summer months.

Trustees honor athletes, hear grants report, pass budget

A lot of parents, grandparents and other family members took a lot of pictures at the beginning of Tuesday's Kershaw County Board of School Trustees meeting as the district honored dozens of student athletes. The meeting started in a large meeting space in an auxiliary building at the district's offices on West DeKalb Street. Later, the meeting moved to the actual board room in the main building and included a report on grant programs and passage of the district's proposed 2015-16 budget.
