School board to continue budget discussion Tuesday

The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees will continue discussing the Kershaw County School District's (KCSD) proposed 2015-16 school year budget Tuesday night. According to a copy of the board's proposed agenda, the discussion will include a line-by-line review of proposed expenditures and updates, if any, on state revenue.

Morgan’s contract extended to 2017

The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees voted Tuesday night to extend Dr. Frank Morgan's contract as the Kershaw County School District's (KCSD) superintendent by one year, to June 30, 2017. In a separate vote, the board also unanimously granted Morgan a 1.5 percent salary increase, retroactive to July 1, 2014.

Over the past few months, a small wooden box on the front lawn of a Camden home has been drawing attention. Many a passersby has taken a closer look to discover that the box contains a collection of books, a sign announcing "Free Little Library," and an invitation to take or leave a book.
