Applications being taken for CHS Hall of Fame

The School Improvement Council of Camden High School has created a Camden High School Hall of Fame to honor alumni whose accomplishments, deeds and character exemplify outstanding achievement in their life's work and/or service to their community. This award may also honor individuals who did not graduate from Camden High School, but who have significantly and consistently contributed to the work and mission of Camden High School. Graduates of Jackson High School may be nominated for this award. Nominations will be kept confidential.

Small schools could cost millions to renovate, replace

Thursday, the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) announced that the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees selected, by unanimous vote, Dr. William (Shane) Robbins as its new superintendent to replace Dr. Frank Morgan who is retiring in June.

Creel to be new Blaney Elementary principal

At its meeting Tuesday night, the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees voted to select Windsor Elementary (Richland School District 2) Assistant Principal Sherrill Creel to be the new principal for Blaney Elementary (BES) starting July 1. Creel is replacing Ed Yount who is leaving for a similar position in the Upstate.

NCHS listed again as one of best in U.S.

For the fourth time in five years, U.S. News & World Report magazine is ranking North Central High School (NCHS) as one of the best high schools in the nation. NCHS received a bronze award and was one of only 59 South Carolina high schools recognized this year.
