KH board to discuss old PTHS property, Capella deal tonight

The KershawHealth Board of Trustees will enter executive session at the end of its meeting tonight to receive and update and legal advice on two topics. One item concerns the old Pine Tree Hill Elementary School property on Lakeshore Drive. KershawHealth purchased portions of the former school property from the city of Camden a number of years ago after the city purchased the property from the Kershaw County School District.

Capella letter of intent extended again

KH, Capella/MUSC letter of intent extended one month

KershawHealth, Kershaw County, Capella Healthcare and MUSC Health are extending a letter of intent (LOI) agreeing to a pending $36 million purchase of the county's local healthcare system by one month from Sunday to June 30. That date will, according to a motion made Tuesday night by KershawHealth Board of Trustees Vice Chair Dr. Tallulah Holmstrom, coincide with the projected closing date of the Capella/MUSC Health deal. MUSC Health is the patient care arm of the Medical University of South Carolina.

KC Mental Health orgs working to educate public

A member of the family

Maggie Davis was 12 years old when she began babysitting for the late Dr. David Joseph on Kennedy Drive. The Josephs had just moved to Camden from Georgetown in 1953. Eight years later, after graduating from high school in 1961, David Joseph, who died in 1992, hired Davis to work in his dental practice's lab.
