Election Tuesday is only eight weeks away, and as we approach these days leading up to the opportunity to exercise the precious right to vote, I want to update you on the Camden Recreation Referendum Coalition (CRRC) issue and the city of Camden. Many of you have been asking about the status of the ballot-question and if the petition, signed by over 1,700 of you, has been recognized as valid by Mayor Jeffrey Graham and city council. The answer is no -- as a matter of fact, the city of Camden through attorney Charles Cushman and Columbia attorney Danny Crowe ...

It doesn't matter what your point of view is, (most important), do you want to live life the way other countries do, where you only have what the Government gives you? Work the rest of your life so you can watch (silently) your president give it to another country?

Labor Day should be a wakeup call for the attack on worker's rights raging through our country is coordinated, well funded and coming from many directions. The future of the middle class and unions are at stake. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt came in mind.
Personally I don't like lying! I made remarks to my brother (now deceased) about Obama lying during the last presidential campaign! His answer was politicians have been lying since the very beginning of politics! This may be true! My mom told me many years ago, (be sure your sins will find you out). I don't like lies or lying and would not vote for a Democrat often as I know now!
I have read in this paper that our governments at the federal, state and local levels are all imposing too much taxes and not doing a good job in spending those taxes. I think you should print the fact that some of us are sick to death of hearing about gay rights, what about our rights or don't we have any, they say and do what even they want and its suppose to be OK, but heaven forbid a Christian standing up for what they believe. I am so proud of the Chick-Fil-A man that stood up for what he believed, and I know our Lord and Savior is saying finally. What is wrong with the people of this world? I know our Lord is thoroughly disgusted.
The House Ethics Committee has cleared Governor Haley of wrong doing a second time. Charges brought this time at the behest of "Citizen Rainey" (so dubbed by this newspaper earlier in the year), and no doubt with the encouragement of the obese senator from Lexington.

Within minutes of the movie theater shooting in Colorado, the news media was on the scene, filming the resulting chaos. One of the cameramen panned across the sign on the front of the theater that said "No Concealable Weapons Allowed." No doubt he was trying to depict the irony of the message in light of the situation.
This week my daughter enrolled her three year old in swimming lessons at the recreation department swimming pool. Yesterday I got to watch a group of very focused young people teaching the children to swim. The pool and the facility were pristeen. The children were happy and well cared for. Thank you to Lydia Guinn who taught my granddaughter and to Jessica Mullins who is head of this fine program.
