The educators reviewed teacher workbooks page by page, deleting methods that had not been successful, adding other teaching ideas and retaining the majority of the methods which participants say "worked extremely well." Photo cutline -- Sometime it's hard to keep a sub sandwich out of your beard when you're eating fast. Michel West, who recently took part in a submarine sandwich eating contest at The Sub Station II, can attest to that fact. West and his friends polished off a six-foot sandwich in five minutes.

Fellers, who recently graduated with a perfect 4.0 average from Clemson with a double major in chemistry and German, was also awarded Clemson's highest non-academic award, the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, for public service.

Photo cutline -- Patsy Lewis, who spearheaded the Palmetto Balloon Classic, casts a hopeful eye towards the sky as balloons waited to take off Saturday near Historic Camden. The weather didn't cooperate in the morning, but the balloons were able to take off late Saturday afternoon.
