Watching as members of the Lugoff-Elgin baseball team walked off the field following Thursday's 9-8 loss in which Dutch Fork scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to come away with the win, L-E assistant coach Joe Harvley noticed something different about the Demon players and relayed what he saw to head coach Randy Stokes.
Randy Stokes is the antithesis of a "me first" guy. So when the Lugoff-Elgin head baseball coach notched his 300th win in the Demons' dugout following Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Ridge View he was quick to shift the spotlight to those players and coaches who helped him get to this point in his career.

In a match which the Lugoff-Elgin tennis team needed to win in order to keep their post-season chances alive, it is nice to have someone like Hunter Horton anchoring the top of the lineup as well as also coming in to play a key role when the pairing is on the line.
After having broken a Lugoff-Elgin baseball team jinx at Blythewood, the current edition of the Demons have set their sights on working to get a first round 4A state playoff home game come next Thursday.
While the end result may not show it, the Lugoff-Elgin tennis team, which fell to Spring Valley, 5-1, for the second time this year, is a vastly different one than that which lost to the Vikings by an identical score on March 15.
After having dropped a tightly contested game in Region 4-4A play to Blythewood, 2-1, a week earlier, the Lugoff-Elgin softball team moved into sole possession of second place in the six-team circuit with a 3-1 win over visiting Dutch Fork last Thursday night.
