Who made it through? Who will win? The decision will be made Thursday during the finale of Kershaw County's Got Talent. Scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC), the contestants will perform for three industry professionals. After all of the contestants have performed, the decision will be made and the winner will be announced. Featured emcee will be Patty Rose from KOOL 102.7 and Startime 1590.
The South Carolina Philharmonic (SCP) performed a free concert at KershawHealth Friday as part of the "Where in the Midlands is Morihiko?" free concert series. A woodwind and string ensemble made up of SCP musicians performed for visitors and residents in the hospital lobby.

Boykin artist Denise L. Greer won first place (with a cash prize of $300) at the 22nd Annual Miniature Competition held at the Florence Museum. Her winning entry was a mixed-media painting titled "Southwest." Judge Susan Lenz commented in the shows program, "Denise Greer's SOUTHWEST possessed all the best principles of art and it's craftsmanship, intrinsic beauty, and overall quality made it Best of Show."

Denise L. Greer of Boykin was awarded with the Guy Lipscomb Memorial Award which included a cash prize of $600 for her painting, "Daybreak." The award was given on Oct. 2 during an award luncheon and art reception for the South Carolina Watermedia Society (SCWS) in Rock Hill. There were 171 entries and only 75 accepted into the show.
