AgSouth reports strong year

AgSouth Farm Credit CEO Bill Spigener has announced that the customer-owned cooperative, with an office in Kershaw County, had net earnings of $6.7 million during the fourth quarter of 2010. Year-to-date earnings total $35.9 million and exceed the association's earnings of Dec. 31, 2009, by more than $9.7 million.

For the second time in four years, the Chronicle-Independent has been named the best two-to-three times weekly newspaper in the state of South Carolina. Restaurant hours for Charlie's on Broad were incorrectly reported in the New Chamber Member Spotlight featured in the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce publication, The Connection, which was included in Monday's Chronicle-Independent. Charlie's, located at 1035 Broad St. in Camden, is open every day of the week -- Sunday through Saturday -- from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 5 p.m. until the last customer is served.
