Pond management workshops in the works
In response to an increase in the number of local pond management questions and visits received this season, the Clemson Extension Service in Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties will offer one or two pond management workshops in early November.

The use of prescribed fire as a land management tool has deep and ancient roots in South Carolina's heritage. However, conducting prescribed burns is becoming increasingly challenging due to a variety of factors, according to a state wildlife biologist and forester.
