LFD now National Child Seat Fitting Station

Lugoff firefighter Ben Hinson checks the proper installation of a car seat at the Lugoff Fire Department (LFD). The department has earned national recognition as a child safety seat fitting station. Parents and guardians may visit the LFD headquarters at any time to have a certified child seat technician perform a safety inspection of a car seat. The technicians will train parents and guardians how to properly install a car seat to ensure safe transportation for children. Pillows tied up with love

Nannie Seegars made 220 fleece pillows for residents at the Springdale Nursing Home. Her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, distributed the pillows to residents and employees on November 15. Seegars wanted to make the pillows to show her appreciation for the nursing home. "Mama has been working on these pillows, tied up with love, for about 10 months and it has been a true labor of love. We pray that God blesses each angel who receives a pillow," Seegar's daughter, Pat Collins said.
