SCDHHS to insure more children through ‘Express Lane’ eligibility

Approximately 602 Kershaw County children who are currently eligible for South Carolina's Medicaid program but are not signed up will be enrolled and immediately able to receive services through a coordinated care health plan, the South Carolina Department of Health Human Services (SCDHHS) announced today. This is part of the initiative of SCDHHS to enroll 65,000 eligible children state-wide.

Author of American Revolution books to appear in Camden

Dr. Jim Piecuch, an author specializing in the history of the American Revolution, will be at Camden's Books on Broad, 944 Broad St., from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday for a book signing and discussion. Benefit to help Pathway ministry reach at-risk children

Jak Smyrl collection purchased by USC library

The University of South Carolina (USC) Libraries is now home to a collection of more than 5,000 images, plus correspondence, sketchbooks, and even early elementary-school artwork Camden's Oscar Jackson "Jak" Smyrl, The State newspaper's first staff artist, who passed away in 2007.
