Local post celebrates Legion’s 93rd anniversary

An organization with a long history of service to veterans continues today in Kershaw County. The American Legion, the only veterans organization, chartered by U.S. Congress, needs new members.

Upon graduation and completion of ROTC Military Science courses at the host university, Rodriguez will receive a bachelor's degree and a commission of second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Revolutionary War Field Days, 2012

The 42nd annual Revolutionary War Field Days took place, Nov. 3-4, at the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site. Cannons announced each day's 1:30 p.m. "battle." Guests were treated to various activities including Colonial women demonstrating 18th century skills and blacksmiths working the forge. Scheduled events included a period fashion show, fife & drum concerts, artillery demonstrations and a discussion on cavalry during the Revolution.
