Dr. Larry Parrott of Camden has played in more than his share of golf tournaments throughout the Carolinas in his years on the links. But he never experienced anything like what he was a part of last month.
They grew up playing golf together in Burlington, N.C., and now 30-year-old Matt Crenshaw, a car salesman and 28-year-old Blair Bowland, a restaurant manager, are the 2012 Carolinas Golf Association's 61st annual Four-Ball Championship.
The field is set for the 61st Carolinas Four-Ball Championship, which will be held for the 56th time at the Camden Country Club. The event tees off this morning and will continue until the champions are crowned on Sunday.
