Due to Friday being the Fourth of July, the list of summer youth sports camps for next week is a relatively short one.
Dixie Youth Ozone and Dixie Youth AAA (9-10-year-olds) All-Star baseball district tournament action began on Thursday for some Kershaw County teams and will continue into next week at three locations.

William and Bryan Holmes from Blythewood had a total haul of 19.59 pounds to win the 31st annual Take A Child Bass Fishing Tournament, held in memory of longtime event supporters and Wateree Marina proprietors, Tommy and Lib Phillips, on Lake Wateree May 17.
Rachel Castell, formerly of Lugoff-Elgin High School, has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and swimming pursuits at NCAA Division II Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
Steve Phillips of Lugoff weighed a five-bass limit totaling 19 pounds, 12 ounces Saturday to win the third Walmart Bass Fishing League South Carolina Division tournament of 2014 on Lake Wateree. For his victory, Phillips earned $4,977.
