The Kershaw County Recreation Department and the Camden Kiwanis Club will hold the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition on Saturday, Sept. 22 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Larry Doby Complex in Camden.

The Lexington County-Kershaw U18 and U16 boys' soccer teams traveled to Lexington on Saturday in what was the first game of the season for Coach Aron Taylor and Coach Josh Witt's U18 boys' team. And the local entry started off with a 5-2 win against BCS Arsenal.

The LCSC Kershaw 95 Lady Strikers Soccer Team, a first-year girls U-17 soccer team made up of varsity and junior varsity players from both Camden and Lugoff-Elgin high schools, is hosting a fundraising golf tournament for the program on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the White Pine Golf Club in Camden.
As if the summer could not get any better for the Camden-based Team Ballers AAAU youth basketball franchise, a pair of the squads closed out a memorable 2012 summer campaign by capturing a pair of championship in the End of Summer Youth Championship Tournament, sponsored by Tournaments R Us, in Atlanta on Aug. 3-5.

Shannon Johnson, a member of the gold medal-winning USA women's basketball team at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, will be the guest speaker at next Tuesday's session of the Runnin' Dogs Basketball Camp at Camden High School.
