A not-so-funny thing happened to KC West in a game which had all the earmarks of being a blowout after the first three innings of Monday's opening game of the Sub-District A Dixie Youth All-Star tournament.
The Camden Royals boys' AAU basketball team will hold a car wash and fish fry in front of the Title Max office at 1031 West DeKalb Street in Camden on Saturday, June 23. The fundraiser for the team, made up of players from Kershaw and Lee Counties, will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Camden-based AAU Ballers franchise left the Women on the Move, Inc. Above the Rim Basketball Tournament with plenty of hardware in winning all three titles. The event was held at Rhame City Arena on April 13-15.

The Kershaw County Post 17 Senior American Legion team will host Sumter tonight at 7 p.m. in a pre-season scrimmage game to be played at American Legion Stadium.
The Carolinas Hound Show held on May 12 at the Springdale Race Course, brought together fox hunts from North and South Carolina. Hound breeds, including English, American, Crossbred and Penn-Marydell, were judged on conformation according to breed standards. Camden hound Midnight was judged champion brood bitch.
Lake Wateree will be awash with the sight of sails billowing in the breeze as the Wateree Sailing Club (WSC) will host its second annual Spring Midlands Multihull Regatta on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 25.
Kershaw County-based Carolina Family Karate took part in last month's AAU North Carolina State Karate Championship and returned home with 27 medals. The competition team is coached by Matthew Smith and competed in the disciplines of Kata, Kumite and Kobudo.
Due to last Thursday's inclement weather, both Camden and North Central's games at Dreher and Indian Land, respectively, were postponed to tonight. North Central will travel to Indian Land for a pair of 6 p.m. contests on the baseball and softball diamonds. The Camden High baseball game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The eighth annual Clinic Classic 5K walk/run will take to the streets of Camden on Saturday, April 18.
