If the weather cooperated on Thursday, football season in Kershaw County for the 2018 season is off and running.

Weather-permitting, Lugoff-Elgin was to have traveled to West Columbia to take on Airport High School in the first pre-season scrimmage for any of the county’s three public school football teams.

Kershaw County’s three public school varsity football teams will get a chance to hit someone other than their own teammates when the scrimmage season opens next week.

Tonight, Camden is slated to head to River Bluff for a four-way scrimmage which includes Blythewood and Emerald. North Central opens its preseason slate at Indian Land Saturday morning.

There is no charge to attend a preseason scrimmage.
