A funeral service to celebrate the life of Charles Edwin “Chuck” Cooper, 80, of Camden, SC, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 15, 2017 at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be private. Rev. Angela Jennings will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 1301 Mill Street, Camden, SC, 29020.

Chuck went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 11, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born April 28, 1937 in Gallipolis, Ohio and raised in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Clayton E. Cooper and Geraldine Pickins Cooper.

Mr. Cooper worked for BF Goodrich in Akron, Ohio and Elgin, SC. He later retired from HBD Thermoid in Elgin, SC. Chuck was an active member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church. He was also a member of “The Golden Club” in Camden. Chuck loved history and reading, as well as working in the yard. Chuck also enjoyed fishing with his son, John, golfing with friends and his mornings spent with his coffee friends. Chuck was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who was the happiest when spending time with friends and family. 

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Kay Cooper; children, Deborah Kay Knight (Kevin) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and John Edwin Cooper of Camden, SC; grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Knight and Kevin Cooper Knight; brothers, Donald and Darrell Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
