A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Mary Elizabeth Sheheen “Beth” McFadden, 55, of Irmo, SC, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Camden at 11 a.m. , Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Father John Zimmerman will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Quaker Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. today, December 5, 2017 at the church, with visitation following in the Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Richland County Library, 1431 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC 29201.  

Beth died on Saturday, December 2, 2017. She was born in Columbia, SC, the daughter of Arthur Anthony “Mac” Sheheen and Patsy Culbreth Sheheen. Beth was a 1981 graduate of Irmo High School and attended USC. She was born approximately 2 ½ months premature and not expected to live: yet she overcame numerous medical obstacles to live a full life. Beth was a devoted wife, avid reader and a woman of strong faith, who loved people.

Beth is survived by her husband, John Gaston McFadden of Irmo; parents of Irmo; sister, Jennifer Culbreth Sheheen of Columbia; brother, Joseph Abraham Sheheen of Garden City; aunt, Linda Talley of Greer; and uncle, Bobby Culbreth of Holly Springs.

Beth was predeceased by her brother, Matthew Anthony “Matt” Sheheen.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
