A memorial service to celebrate the life of Eugene Irvin “Gene” Deese,76, of Camden, SC, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, with military rites. Rev. Taylor Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his home. Memorials may be made to Wateree Baptist Church, 2024 Haile Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Gene died Sunday, April 15, 2018. He was born in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late William Irvin “Bill” Deese and Julia Phillips Deese. Gene was an US Air Force veteran. He was a member and former deacon of Wateree Baptist Church and he loved classic cars.

Gene is survived by his niece, Debra Moseley (Dean West) of Florence, SC; great-nephews, Adam Kennedy (Celeste) of Pamplico, Craig Riffle of Irmo, Ryan Riffle (Liz) of Chapin and Michael Moseley, Jr. of Guyton, GA; Fiancé, Vivian Stroud; and brother-in-law, Johnny Moseley.

Besides his parents, Gene was predeceased by his sister, Margie Moseley; nephew, Michael Moseley, Sr.; and niece, Tammie Riffle.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
