A funeral service to celebrate the life of Phillip A. Stone, 77, of Camden, SC, was held Monday, June 11, 2018 at First Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Osteen officiated. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family received friends Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Young at Heart Fund, c/o First Baptist Church, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Phillip died Thursday, June 7, 2018. He was born in Rock Island, IL, the son of the late Clarence A. Stone and Dorothy Tanner Stone. He was retired from A.O. Smith in McBee, SC as a materials manager. Phillip received his masters from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, a member and former SC. GWRRA district director, and a member of the Silverstones Choir and Young at Heart. He enjoyed golfing, camping and traveling.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Judith Clyburn “Judy” Stone; daughter, Terry Romandine (Ross)  of Camden; sons, Michael Stone (Jennifer) of Camden and Richard Stone (Donna) of Richmond, VA;15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Jack W. Crayne, Sr. (Mary) of Camden and Hal R. “Robbie” Crayne (Kelly) of Jacksonville Beach, FL; sister, Phyllis Finley (Jim) of Arcadia Lakes, FL; and his brothers, Ronald Stone (Amy) of Coal Valley, IL and Brian Stone (Cindy) of Hampton, IL.

Besides his parents, Phillip was predeceased by his first wife, Sandra Christensen “Sandy” Stone.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
