Vintage Market Days, a three-day upscale, nationally-known open-air vintage event, has selected Camden as the location for the first vintage event in central South Carolina. According to regional Vintage Market Days franchise owners Pete and Ruth Rauch, the Columbia Metro Vintage Market Days event “Southern Charm” will be held at the Camden City Arena, Oct. 27-29.

Showcasing local and national talent, the event will feature approximately 100 vendors from across the country with vintage-inspired home décor, handmade jewelry, art, music and plenty of homemade food. Vendors will be both inside the arena and on the exterior grounds surrounding the arena. According to a press release from the city of Camden, the event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each of the three days.

Vintage Market Days is an “upscale vintage-inspired indoor/outdoor market” featuring original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade treasures, home decor, outdoor furnishings, consumable yummies, seasonal plantings and more. The market began in Tulsa, Okla., in 2011 as a pop-up event, and by 2014, had grown to eight locations across five states. Now, there are more than 60 Vintage Market Days franchises across the country.

The Rauchs, owners of Vintage Market Days of Columbia Metro, who also own Ivy House Antique Mall in Columbia, have the market franchise that includes Richland, Kershaw, Lexington, Fairfield, Newberry, Calhoun and Sumter counties. They said the Camden event will be the first time Vintage Market Days comes to the Midlands of South Carolina.

“We knew that there wasn’t an event like this in central South Carolina, so we were the first to be able to purchase a franchise in this area,” said Ruth Rauch.

Vintage Market Days “Southern Charm” is expected to draw thousands of shoppers a day throughout the weekend. Potential vendors are currently being juried.

“All vendors go through a selection process to ensure the event has the best of the best vintage items,” Rauch said. “We will be showcasing true vintage items, items that are vintage-inspired and a lot of repurposed vintage items. We love Camden so much. People associate Camden with vintage history and antiques, so this city is very special for us. Vintage Market Days is super excited to be premiering in the beautiful, antique town of Camden.”
