The S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced weight restrictions for vehicle traffic using the bridge spanning Buffalo Creek on Mt. Pisgah Road in Kershaw County.

A recent inspection by SCDOT’s bridge inspection team on Mount Pisgah Road over Buffalo Creek revealed structural deficiencies with the existing bridge, which will require a restriction of the weight limit of vehicles utilizing this roadway.

Based on the bridge type and existing bridge condition, SCDOT implemented a weight restriction of 8 tons per axle and 33 tons Gross Vehicle Weight on Friday.

The department does not recommend vehicular traffic that exceeds the posted limits on this structure.
