L-EHS Drama Dept. showcases student work

Lugoff-Elgin High School (L-EHS) drama students recently portrayed the perils, joys and everyday challenges of high school life in their winter production. The play consisted of a series of monologues, written by L-EHS Drama III students, dealing with issues such as pregnancy, parent’s divorce, social media mishaps, relationship issues and navigating friendships. The play followed a group of students through their senior year in high school.

Gary is KCSD Food Service Employee of the Month

Twenty-four years ago, Brenda Gary began working at Camden High School as a food service employee within the Kershaw County School District (KCSD). Gary worked at Camden High until last year when officials determined help was needed at Leslie M. Stover Middle School’s cafeteria in Elgin.

KCSD receives two 21st Century Community Learning Centers grants

The Kershaw County School District (KCSD) is the only South Carolina school district to receive not just one, but two 21st Century Community Learning Centers grants for 2015. Partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands, Jackson School and Pine Tree Hill Elementary School will house afterschool academic assistance programs.

CHS raises funds for PAALS

CHS raises funds for PAALS

 

Camden High School’s (CHS) National Honor Society (NHS) presented Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS) with a $3,000 check Tuesday. The money is going to a program called Rob’s Best Friend Fund; a ceremony marking the donation took place in the CHS media center.

Jackson’s Goodwin is KCRC Reading Administrator of the Year

 

The Kershaw County Reading Council’s (KCRC) Administrator of the Year is doing everything she can to make sure students are reading at least at grade level. The KCRC named Jackson Elementary School Principal Matia Goodwin as its Reading Administrator of the Year at its annual recognition program Dec. 8.
