We are pleased to see our youth getting involved in various activities that nurture and develop leadership skills. From the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce’s Junior Leadership program to various school and extra-curricular activities, it is good to see our future leaders in action. Indeed, it is always exciting to see the level of enthusiasm and sheer creativity they bring to the business of problem solving and getting things done.

So we are especially pleased to extend our hearty congratulations to the Camden High School Student Council, which was recently recognized by the S.C. Student Council Coalition (SCC) with several awards, most notably, the first-ever SCC Student Government of the Year Award.

That’s right: The SCC named CHS’ student council the best student government body in the state. That’s quite impressive.

Indeed, it’s quite a laurel for all of our student leaders. You are all to be commended for your dedication and your willingness to step up and make a difference.

And again, our heartiest congratulations to the CHS Student Council; you make your school and your community very proud.
