It looks like the Kershaw County Farmer’s Market will be moving again -- this time back to downtown Camden -- and just in time for the 2018 season. In fact, thanks to donations from the community, including two recent donations from Farm Bureau and the Kershaw County Soil and Water Conservation District, the market will be able to move forward with plans to buy property located at 906 Broad St., Camden.

This means the market will open on April 7 at the new location.

We are pleased the Farmers Market has found a new forever home and is moving forward with ambitious plans, including the construction of a permanent pavilion facility. Indeed, if all comes to fruition, it should be a very nice, centrally-located facility that will undoubtedly add greatly to the quality of life in Camden and in Kershaw County.

So, thanks to all who have been making this happen -- the Farmers Market, the PLAY Foundation, city of Camden, Kershaw County, legislative delegation and, of course, all the generous donors -- and here’s to a bright future.
