THE REVAMPED CAROLINA CUP RACES will be held on Saturday, March 31 at the Springdale Race Course and will pay out $325,000 in purse money.

Invitations have been sent to spaceholders who purchased parking spaces and tickets for either/or the 2017 Carolina Cup Steeplechase Races as well as the 2016 Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup Steeplechase Races for the Carolina Cup Steeplechase Races.

Officials at the race office said the phone at the office have been ringing steadily over the past week.

The 84th running of the Camden spring classic will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the historic Springdale Race Course in Camden. In many instances and areas around the race course, prices have been lowered.

Those patrons who had tickets for this past spring’s Carolina Cup will have first preference as to whether they would like to renew their spot(s) for the 2018 event. They must reply to the Carolina Cup office by Dec. 1, 2017 in order to secure a space(s).

On Dec. 2, 2017, all 2016 Colonial Cup spaceholders will get their opportunity to secure a space(s) for the spring Carolina Cup. They must reply by Jan. 8, 2018.

Any and all remaining spaces for the 2018 Carolina Cup will be placed on sale to the general public beginning Jan. 10, 2018.

The 2018 Carolina Cup Races will pay out a Camden-record $325,000 in purses on an afternoon card in which half of the six races will be stakes division chases. The $150,000 Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup will serve as the day’s feature with the $75,000 Carolina Cup being run as the co-feature.
