Clemson Extension accepting applications for ‘Yard of the Year’ contest

Calling all gardeners: Would you like to be recognized for gardening with the environment in mind?  

The 2017 Carolina Yard of the Year Contest, sponsored by the Clemson Extension Service, is open to anyone with property in South Carolina that meets the following requirements: 

 •  Current Carolina Yards certification or submission of Carolina Yards Scorecard with application 

•  Narrative explaining why applicant values environmentally-friendly landscaping 

•  Photo and/or video documentation of yard actions 

Interested applicants should complete the online form located on the events page of the Carolina Yards website.  Applications must be completed by Friday, June 16. 

 Prizes include the following: 

First Prize - Filming of yard to air as a segment on SC ETV’s Making It Grow!, Inclusion on Carolina Yards Website and Carolina Yards Marble Tile. 

 Second prize - Carolina Yards Garden Stone 

 Third prize - Carolina Yards Garden Flag
