Long-time Chronicle-Independent staffer Martin Cahn, who had been working with the Farmville Herald in Farmville, Va., since July 2016, has returned to the C-I in an interesting and exciting new role as senior writer and web content editor.

“Martin Cahn is one of the most talented journalists that I have ever employed and it is my pleasure to welcome him back to the Chronicle-Independent family in the role of senior writer,” said Mike Mischner publisher of Camden Media Company.

Cahn, who started Monday, will cover the city of Camden, Kershaw County School District, and crime beats, as well as write a weekly column. In addition, he will be working to enhance and increase the C-I’s web and social media presence in the community.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome back my long-time friend and colleague Martin Cahn,” C-I Editor Jim Tatum said. “His love of and dedication to Camden and Kershaw County, not to mention the energy, skill, innovation and commitment he brings to the craft of journalism simply go without saying. I know he’ll be out there serving up plenty of interesting and informative stories for our readers and this community.”

“It took leaving and trying something new for me to realize Camden and the C-I are where I belong,” Cahn said. “I’m very happy to be back and look forward to again telling the stories of Kershaw County, its communities and the people who live and work in them.”
