In a joint statement, Mike Mischner and LRT Consulting LLC announced today that The Camden Equestrian magazine would be joining the Camden Media Co. family of publications. The Camden Equestrian was founded in 2008 and has been owned and published by LRT Consulting LLC since 2013. LRT Consulting LLC is owned and operated by Camden resident Lydia R. Towell.
According to Mischner, publisher of Camden Media Co., The Camden Equestrian will merge with its equine magazine, The Camden Horse, which will now be called The Camden Horse & Equestrian.
“We are delighted that Lydia has decided to entrust us with her magazine” Mischner said. “We are especially pleased that she has agreed to become a regular columnist for our magazine, focusing on the hunter jumper side of the equine world”.
“I am excited for The Camden Equestrian to become part of Camden Media Co. and look forward to covering the hunter jumper world for The Camden Horse & Equestrian,” Towell said.
Mischner went on to say, “Horses and the individuals involved with them have always played a huge role in the fabric of Camden and add immeasurably to its lifestyle and appeal. Camden Media Co. is happy that it can play a part in this dynamic industry by publishing the local Camden horse magazine.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
In addition to The Camden Horse & Equestrian, Camden Media Co. publishes the Chronicle-Independent, the West Wateree Chronicle, the Ft. Jackson Leader, The Shaw News, the Lee County Observer, the Blythewood Country Chronicle, the Lake Wateree News and The Connection.
Camden Media Co. also owns and operates Kershaw County’s local news website, www.chronicle-independent.com.
