The Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce earned income of more than $18,000 for the first half of its 2011-2012 fiscal year. Executive Director Liz Horton attributed the profit to maintaining a “strong financial position,” “good control of expenses” and Kershaw County’s participation in chamber events and use of chamber services. “Increased revenue from our affinity programs … our building rentals and having the largest and most successful Christmas parade in many years” all contributed to the chamber’s success, Horton said.
