Despite pandemic, residential permits soar in Camden, county
New Homes
New three- to five-bedroom homes under construction in Camden’s new Bellehaven subdivision off S.C. 97. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Bellehaven is part of a tripling of new home construction in the city that began in 2020 versus 2019. Kershaw County officials said new residential construction in the county is also up, by 40 percent. The city of Camden annexed the property comprising Bellehaven in late 2018. (Martin L. Cahn/C-I)
