Hotel group Kali, Inc. and Camden city officials are scheduled to break ground on a new Hampton Inn at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The three acre site of the new hotel at 122 Wall Street is conveniently located just off Interstate I-20 at Exit 98.

According to Kali, Inc. Vice President Deep Patel, the hotel will have 70 guest rooms, breakfast area, an indoor swimming pool, top of the line fitness center, meeting space and a gift shop.

Patel said Camden is the ideal place for Hampton Inn because of its convenient location and the fact that it is a growing town.

"We are seeing that Camden is really growing and becoming a dynamic location for leisure travelers, visitors and business travelers,” Patel said.

Construction of the new hotel is expected to take 12-16 months.
