S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley visited the Hengst booth at the International Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany in September. Hengst of North America is headquartered in Camden, where it established its U.S. production facility in 2005.

While visiting the booth, Haley reportedly took the opportunity to find out more about filtration technologies the company develops and manufactures.

"We are very excited about the visit and the strong interest Governor Haley has shown in our products and technologies," Robert Junker, CEO of Hengst of North America, said.

Junker and Jens Röttgering, managing partner of the Hengst Group, welcomed Haley to the exhibition booth at IAA Frankfurt, the world’s largest show for the automotive industry.

At the Hengst booth, Gov. Haley was shown multi-functional filtration solutions that lead to greater efficiency and lower emissions in modern vehicles, thanks to functional integration and reduced weight. With its innovative products, Hengst is among the South Carolina’s most important automotive suppliers, the company said in a press release. The Camden factory supplies numerous well-known vehicle manufacturers, such as Detroit Diesel Corporation, Chrysler Group, General Motors, Freightliner and Paccar. The production facility focuses on the manufacture of filter cartridges, assembly, machining and plastic injection molding.

"Hengst Automotive is an important employer for Camden and South Carolina and make a substantial contribution to our business community," Haley said. "Companies like Hengst Automotive play a major role in our success and I am personally committed to making sure that continues.

Hengst of North America Inc. is an independent and wholly owned subsidiary of the Hengst Group with global Headquarters in Muenster, Germany. Hengst is a privately held company founded in 1958 with more than 3,000 employees in nine locations worldwide.

"We pride ourselves on technical innovations and being a solution provider in today’s vehicle and filtration industry. We are passionate about our work, our team members, and our innovation within the industry," Hengst official said in the press release.
