Local industries band together for Thermoid job fair
Thermoid Job Fair
Recently, a number of industries in Kershaw County held a special job fair for employees at the HBD Thermoid plant in Elgin, which recently announced it is closing. Among those recognized for helping out were (from left) Rafael Gonzalez Jr., Suominen; Greg Robinson, Suominen; Dean Riddle, Hengst; Tracie Rice, Cogsdill Tooling; and Nate Cannon, Cogsdill Tooling. Not present were representatives from Conner Industries, Cardinal Health, Oak Mitsui and Cal-Maine, who also assisted with the job fair.
During a recent Kershaw County Industrial Association meeting, seven local industries were recognized for their support of a private job fair for HBD Thermoid employees affected by the company’s recent closure announcement. Recognized industries were Cogsdill Tool Products, Suominen Corporation, Hengst of North America, Conner Industries, Cardinal Health, Oak Mitsui, and Cal-Maine.
