Mark A. Nash, son of Charlie and Pat Nash of Camden and Myrtle Beach, was recently appointed to the Georgetown Hospital System (GHS) Board of Trustees. Nash is president and CEO of Nash Oil Co., a Georgetown area marketer of petroleum-based products and services.

“I have known Mark for many years and I have great admiration for his commitment to the communities we serve and its citizens,” H. McRoy Skipper Jr., chairman of the GHS board, said. “Mark is joining a distinguished group of leaders who are dedicated to building a hospital system that is the best in the region. All of us on the board welcome him and look forward to working with him to advance Georgetown Hospital System.”

GHS CEO Bruce Bailey said Nash will bring valuable ideas and perspectives to the GHS board.

“Mark Nash is a highly respected leader not only for his business acumen, but also for his many contributions to his community,” Bailey said. “As Georgetown Hospital System continues to grow, his leadership, his knowledge of the region and his experience will be invaluable.”

Nash has been active in numerous professional and civic organizations. He has been past president of the S.C. Petroleum Marketers Association, and a former director of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America. He has served on the boards of the YMCA of Coastal Carolina and the Salvation Army, is a former member of The Citadel Board of Visitors, and also served as president of the Citadel Brigadier Foundation. Nash has also served as president of the Georgetown High School Booster Club and is an elder at Georgetown Presbyterian Church.

Nash earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Citadel and his MBS from Charleston Southern University.

“I am excited and honored to serve on the Georgetown Hospital System Board of Trustees, and to have the opportunity to work with this exceptional team,” Nash said.
