AgSouth Farm Credit’s South Carolina Regional President Ronnie Summers has announced the retirement of Veronica Wooten, a loan specialist in the Lugoff office, effective Dec 31, after 34 years of service to the agricultural lender.
Wooten began her Farm Credit career in the credit department of the Federal Land Bank (now AgFirst Farm Credit) in 1979. In 1986 she accepted a position with a local association, Palmetto Farm Credit, which merged with AgSouth in 2004.
"I’ve enjoyed my time with Farm Credit. I’ve met a lot of wonderful people, fellow employees as well as members," Wooten said.
She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Lugoff and is an avid fan of drag racing. As of Sept. 30, AgSouth has 8,447 members, $1.6 billion in assets and $293.5 million in capital and allocated accounts.
