Savage, Royall & Sheheen LLP named Michael D. Wright a partner of the firm, effective January 1, 2015. With the addition of Wright, the firm now has seven attorneys serving the community, continuing its commitment of building long term relationships with clients while finding sensible solutions to complex issues.
Wright joined Savage, Royall & Sheheen in 2012 following clerkships with 10th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Alexander S. Macaulay and S.C. Court of Appeals Judge H. Bruce Williams.
Wright is a trial attorney who has represented clients in municipal, state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate level. Wright represents both individuals and businesses in civil litigation, worker’s compensation matters, employment disputes and criminal matters. Additionally, Wright handles estate planning and personal injury matters for clients. In addition to his work at the firm, Wright also serves as the prosecutor for the city of Camden.
Wright is a 2005 valedictorian graduate of Presbyterian College and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2009. In addition, Wright earned a Master of Letters in Legal and Political Philosophy from the University of Stirling in Scotland while serving as a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar.
Wright is involved in the community, serving on the executive committees of the United Way of Kershaw County, U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Camden Rotary Club. Wright is the immediate past-president of the Kershaw County Bar Association and volunteers as a Youth Court judge for the Kershaw County School District and at the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County.
A native of Surfside Beach, Wright moved to Camden in 2012 with his wife, Meghan, and their dog, Lilly.
