833 South Broad
Venue and dance studio a reflection of owners values

Rengy Marshall stands outside 833 South Broad, the property she purchased in 2013. Marshall was a child when the property was home to Coca-Cola in Camden and remembers visiting her uncle who worked there. She rediscovered the property while looking for a home for her daughters dance studio and then decided to transform the majority of the property into an event venue. Since opening in early 2014, 833 South Broad has hosted many events. This year, it will hold all three of Kershaw Countys high school proms. - photo by Martin L. Cahn
Thanks to the magic of memories, Rengy Cobb Marshall was able to stand inside 833 South Broad at multiple points in time: Feb. 15, 2017, and any number of days in the 1960s. “Sometimes, I can close my eyes and hear the clanging of machines putting the glass bottles in the wood crates,” Marshall said. 833 South Broad is the address of the property she purchased in mid-2013 so that her daughter, Ginny Evans, could open Dancin’ on Broad, made up of two rooms in the back of the original brick building.
