The Camden Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing and consider approval of a rezoning request for Beechwood on Knights Hill Road in Camden. The property is currently zoned as Planned Development (PDD) and allows for up to 106 single family homes to be built on the 65-acre property. Under the requested change, the property’s official designation would become PDD - Retirement Community, and would allow for a total of 254 units, including 140 single-family cottages, 64 multi-family apartments and an assisted living facility, according to Camden City Planner Shawn Putnam.
