Bishop Gary Rivas of South Africa, Nelson Mandela’s pastor, comes to Camden
Former Camden Mayor Tony Scully, the author of two books on religion, interviews Bishop Gary Rivas, who recently moved from South Africa to become pastor of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden. (Betsy Greenway/C-I)
When it comes to religion in Camden and Kershaw County, ministers come and go; priests keep to their parishes; we have no rabbi; the Quakers stay silent; the Christian Scientists remain invisible.
